Dolby Atmos Mastering F.A.Q.
What is Dolby Atmos Mastering?
Since the introduction of the Dolby Atmos renderer to Pro Tools and many other D.A.W's some people are mixing in Atmos by listening to the binaural fold down on a pair of headphones. That's a great way to start but how do you know what it sounds like in the real world?
Our Dolby Atmos mastering is a service where we can take your premixed Dolby Atmos mix file (ADM file) and check it over in our Dolby Calibrated ATC mix room, to ensure that it sounds great, and that it translates well to different system and meets Dolby specifications for submission to Apple Music.
What should i send you?
You can send a Dolby Atmos ADM file or you can supply your Dolby Atmos Pro Tools mix session.
How do you master an Atmos file?
A bit like a stereo master! We will open the file or mix session and use multichannel mastering plug ins and/or analogue hardware to tweak the EQ, compression and limiting (if required) of your mix to make sure it sounds as powerful and competitive as possible.
